"I'd Rather Have a passport full of stamps than a house full of stuff."
I am definitely lucky to have had the opportunity to spend another summer vacation in the midst of the Mediterranean and the Adriatic Sea. I’ve spent the last few weeks soaking in all the culture all while stuffing my face with as many croissants as possible. I’m obsessed with the quality of food (mainly Cappuccino) and how passionate locals are about the beautiful landscape and lifestyle. I want to send a huge thank you to everyone who liked or shared my posts and I hope you can enjoy a little bit of Croatia from what you see through my camera lens.
A few months before we headed across the pond, Ivan and I were debating back and forth if we wanted to make the travel to Dubrovnik, Croatia during our stay or not and I’m so glad we did! Traveling down the coast from Zadar to Dubrovnik is hands down the most amazing sights I’ve ever experienced. The mountainside and seascape are breathtaking, pictures simply cannot give the views justice. Dubrovnik isn’t what I had expected at all…It was so much better! The reality definitely exceeded the expectations of what I had in mind.
I picked up these cute sunnies from a little tourist stand during a cappuccino pit stop.
When it came to packing for this summer’s travels I had envisioned myself wearing all of these flowy, patterned skirts with little matching bralettes and cotton shift dresses that could work for any occasion (when you mix and match accessories) but after weeks and weeks of searching I basically got fed up with all of the “pinterest styled outfit inspo” and went with a more casual vibe, which is more true to myself anyways. I basically packed 4 pairs of shorts, a handful of comfy Zsupply tops, 2 swimsuits, 2 pairs of shoes, some bralettes for good measure, about 15 different lip products, and my camera.
I was ready to roll!
I picked up these comfy shorts pictured a few days before our flight at Nordstrom Rack for $.01
( I know, I was in shock as well) and my birkenstocks are from Nordstrom!
The Chanel Bag pictured is the new vintage beauty I decided to treat myself with as a 25th Birthday gift.
I wanted the focus of my trip not to revolve around fashion. I didn’t want to wake up every morning planning my outfit for the day, I honestly rarely brushed my beach tangled hair and wore tanning oil as body lotion. I didn’t want to have to touch up foundation as my face sweat from walking around in the heat all day, I wanted to just throw on something simple and make my travels about the photos and really live in the moment. It’s so easy now to get caught up in social media wondering what is going on at home so I tried to live every moment of this trip like there was no way in hell I was ever going home! I would spend all day seaside reading book after book and walk home without a care in the world that my bikini was riding up my ass, only to start dinner smelling like saltwater unable to sit on the furniture because I didn’t want to get tanning oil on anything.
The black bralette pictured is a little something I picked from Urban Outfitters in 2 different colors.
We were lucky enough to cop a room at the Grand Hotel Park Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Our room had an amazing view, wonderful accommodations, and the hotel staff made us feel like King and Queen of Stari Grad, for the duration of our stay.
I loved the location of the venue and how easy it was to navigate towards Old Town. Fingers crossed, we hope to visit Dubrovnik in the future and will absolutely plan to visit Grand Hotel Park and the amazing staff, I highly recommend them to anyone looking to visit this beautiful destination.
I hope I can inspire you to take time to vacate your life and take a step back to see what your real goals and dreams are. Life is so short and the only guaranteed moments we have are the ones we are living. I encourage you to be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire
(some random cheesy quote I live by).
I love you all!
